Access: Simple Steps

Matthew 16:18–19 (NLT)  Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”

Access points are positions with in a perimeter in which you gain entrance to property, building, relationship etc. – Luke 12:32 (NLT)  “So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.

John 3:5–6 (NLT) Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.

Keys to the Kingdom– Keys control ACCESS. No matter how big the door it is the key that determines access. Jesus has keys to hell- He can let anyone in or out Revelation 1:18 (NLT) I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.

Kingdom Defined- Luke 17:20–21 (NLT) One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the Kingdom of God come?” Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs. 21 You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you.”

Kingdom Lifestyle- Matthew 6:31–33 (KJV) Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Caesarea Philippi- Jesus questions them in a place where a pantheon of God existed.

  1. Revelation is Key- Matthew 16:13 (NLT) When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?

  1. The Foundation of Conviction- Matthew 16:15–16 (NLT) Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

God is good and God loves me! Gods character must stand beyond questioning.

  1. Fighting for Control- 1 Corinthians 16:9 (KJV) For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

1 Peter 5:8–9 (NLT) Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

Jesus was tempted, if He didn’t have senses He couldn’t be tested- Hebrews 4:15 (KJV) For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

  1. Governing our Senses- Matthew 16:19 (NLT)  And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”

Psalm 115:5–7 (KJV) They have mouths, but they speak not: Eyes have they, but they see not: 6 They have ears, but they hear not: Noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: Feet have they, but they walk not: Neither speak they through their throat.

  1. Hands- 2 Corinthians 6:17 (NLT) Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.

Touch- Matthew 9:20–21 (KJV) And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

  1. Nose- 2 Thessalonians 3:11 (KJV) For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

Smell- Philippians 4:18 (KJV) But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

  1. Mouth- Matthew 12:36–37 (KJV) But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Ephesians 4:29 (KJV)  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

  1. Eyes- Matthew 6:22–23 (NLT) “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. 23 But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!

Luke 10:23 (KJV) And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:

  1. Ears- Luke 8:18 (NLT) “So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.”

Romans 10:17 (KJV) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Senses are intended to Compliment not Sabotage our Influences- Matthew 16:22–23 (KJV) Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. 23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Discerning Senses- Genesis 27:1 (KJV) And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I.

Genesis 27:22–23 (KJV) And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. 23 And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau’s hands: so he blessed him.

  1. Five Keys of Kingdom Access- 2 Peter 3:18 (KJV) But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

  1. Devotional– This is those who have not opened their bible all week, or had much prayer. Their worship is in the corporate body and the open the bible to get to the text. This is seen in those who want to be out by 12:00. Devotionals are quick fixes for our day or week.

  1. Educational– I come to be taught a lesson. Education is funny in this regards, people only take what they feel is beneficial to them. Algebra will not be necessary for later.

  1. Motivational– I come so you can inspire me to get beyond what I’m fighting. I want you to make me feel good. It’s been a rough week and I need you to provoke me. These are those that minimize corporate service.

  1. Recreational– I’m here because of my friends and relationships that I have.

  1. Revelation– This is where we are built! Knowledge in itself does not bring transformation. Illuminated information is revelation.

Human experiences need a speaking spirit.

Open the Door- Revelation 3:20 (KJV)  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Taking the Lead: From the Inside Out- We must use what’s been loosed on the inside of us to bind what’s on the outside. We are spirit beings with human experiences. We are often times using our human reasoning instead of our Kingdom weaponry.
